Despite several persistent rumors, CAL SMACNA has officially confirmed that the California Energy Commission (CEC) will NOT initiate the requirement for mechanical acceptance testing to be performed by certified Acceptance Test Technicians (ATT).

On Tuesday, August 30th, Governor Brown signed CAL SMACNA supported legislation to help protect contractors from unfair disgorgement of funds in the event of a license lapse at the Contractors State License Board (CSLB).

CAL SMACNA’s co-sponsored “Change Order Reform” legislation AB 626 (Chiu) is awaiting action by Governor Brown. He has until the end of September to sign or veto this bill.
