SACRAMENTO — CAL SMACNA is very pleased to report that our co-sponsored bill AB 92 (Bonta) to extend the 5% retention cap in the Public Contract Code was signed today by Governor Brown.
CAL SMACNA’s prior legislation to cap retention on public works in 2011 and again in 2014 was set to expire on January 1, 2018. AB 92 extends the existing retention protections for contractors to January 1, 2023.
