CSLB operations are funded entirely by license fees, and today, a combination of increased costs and a seven-percent reduction in the number of licenses necessitates that CSLB raise various fees by approximately 10 percent.

Despite several persistent rumors, CAL SMACNA has officially confirmed that the California Energy Commission (CEC) will NOT initiate the requirement for mechanical acceptance testing to be performed by certified Acceptance Test Technicians (ATT).

On Tuesday, August 30th, Governor Brown signed CAL SMACNA supported legislation to help protect contractors from unfair disgorgement of funds in the event of a license lapse at the Contractors State License Board (CSLB).
