Sacramento, CA — Today, March 6th, resolutions were introduced on the floors of the Assembly, ACR 24, and Senate, SCR 29, proclaiming the week of March 5-11, 2023 as Women in Construction Week.

Along with this introduction the Legislature requested that the Governor issue a proclamation calling all of California to observe this week with appropriate programs and educational activities to highlight Women in Construction. In 1987 Congress declared March as national Women’s History Month and since then the industry has celebrated Women in Construction during the first week of March.

Some highlights of the Resolutions include:

“The focus of Women in Construction Week is to highlight women as a visible component of the construction industry,”

“The development of women-owned business enterprises will benefit all members of the workforce through the creation of meaningful and productive jobs.”
