SACRAMENTO — On October 26th–29th CAL SMACNA contractors joined their peers from across North America for SMACNA’s Annual Convention in Wailea, HI. This convention enjoyed a record setting attendance of over 1,600 sheet metal and HVAC contractors from the United States and Canada. Our contractors made good use of their time connecting, collaborating, and learning from other industry professionals. California contractors were also recognized amongst their peers for contributions to the industry and the SMACNA brand.

CAL SMACNA Member Gary Myers, Vice President Marketing and Business | Intech Mechanical | Sacramento SMACNA, was installed onto SMACNA’s 2025-2026 Executive Committee. He begins as SMACNA’s Vice President and will help guide and lead national SMACNA for the next five years.

Intech Mechanical is a minority owned company established in 1993, that offers full service, HVAC, Plumbing, Process Piping, Service and Maintenance, Special Projects, Mechanical Company. Intech Mechanical is located in Roseville California in a 35,000 sq. ft. facility that houses product inventory, and has welding and duct fabrication capabilities. Intech Mechanical has been dedicated to servicing Northern California clients for the past 20 years with reliable service.

Gary also currently sits as the National Liaison on CAL SMACNA’s Board of Directors, and actively serves on CAL SMACNA’s Legislative Committee.

CAL SMACNA Executive Committee member and Treasurer Gina Medel, Penn Air Control, Inc. | SMACNA Southern California, received SMAC PAC’s “Congressional Insiders Club” award. This award recognizes exceptional activism in promoting the association’s legislative goals and advocating for industry interests on Capitol Hill.

Penn Air Control, Inc. was founded in 1973 as a Test & Balance Engineering firm. From its humble beginnings in a home office located in a spare bedroom, the company’s reach has grown beyond its roots to include seven offices. Each of these offices upholds its founder’s vision to provide specialized services with an insistence on quality, hard work, and responsiveness to their client’s needs. 

Gina currently serves on CAL SMACNA’s Investment, Budget, Legislative and Convention Committee.
