Founded in 1913, last year marked 100 years of business for California Sheet Metal Works, Inc.! California Sheet Metal is a member of SMACNA of San Diego, CAL SMACNA and SMACNA National. In August of 1943, the company became a founding member of “The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors Association of San Diego” (aka, SMACNA of San Diego) three years before the Association was incorporated. Earl Rathbun (CAL SMACNA President 1974-75) and Jim Fox purchased the company in 1959.
In 1985, Joe Isom (CAL SMACNA President 2013/2014) became the RMO and Robin Hoffos became an officer of the company and remain so today. The company has since become an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. The company celebrated the 100 year milestone with a full year of activities.
