SACRAMENTO — The question for construction industry employers of “how” and “when” to report and record a COVID-19 related illness is important to answer. Cal/OSHA affirmed to CAL SMACNA today they will be posting guidance to employers on how report and record COVID-19 related illnesses very soon.
In the meantime, however, they have responded to a series of questions asked jointly by the construction industry in California. A copy of the industry letter can be found HERE. And, Cal/OSHA’s response is HERE.
CAL SMACNA encourages your company’s safety directors and/or human resources staff to review this document ASAP to become better informed on how best to prepare for and handle potential workplace illnesses in the construction industry.
We will advise CAL SMACNA members when the actual “guidance” is released by Cal/OSHA or as more information becomes available.
